Writer At Heart

Today I have the pleasure of sitting at one of my favorite Coffee Houses, The Chattahoochee Coffee Company in Marietta, GA.  Note: "It's the little things in life."  Watching the sun unveil itself from behind gray clouds, it is clear to me that paying attention to the "little" pleasures in life -- the beautiful changing colors of Georgia trees; the scent of hickory smoke from chimneys in the fall, or the quietly melodic tones of water rippling over rocks in the Chattahoochee -- is what adds true pleasure to life and momentum to rendezvous with even more.

Here is where I opted to relax this morning and so became inspired to begin this new blog, Simply Fab Living Lifestyles.  As a single mom with two teenagers at home, who also works with teens for a living for over 20-something years, my time is often spoken for.  Meaning, I have to make conscious choices in order to spend time with and for myself.  Sometimes this means, sneaking away in the mornings or grabbing a few moments in between mommy-Ubering my teens to and/or from school functions, games, practices or teen-play-dates.  Thankfully, their dad often helps with the chauffeuring.
Got children under age 16?...
You're an "Uber" Mom/Dad, LOL...

Somewhere in between my last birthday in September and now, I realized that although life was moving along okay, I'd rather it be more on the spectacular side.  I realized that I was living, but not the Simply Fab type of lifestyle that knew I was capable of and deserved.
I've always encouraged youth that I worked with to follow their passion.  I'd say, "If you do what you love, then you'll get good at it and eventually be paid well for your skill."  I began to wonder if the same was true for me.  Although I liked what I did and do, clearly I wasn't truly focused on my own passion; writing.
Since I was 10, maybe younger, I've always written something; poetry, journals, you name it.  Later, I got into communications, public speaking, journalism and editing and eventually earned a degree in videography, with emphasis in producing and writing. At that time, my girls were younger and required a lot more time and attention.  So, starting a new full-time career was far from feasible.  I'd do a bit of freelance commercial and copy writing, but never pursued a writing career in any real meaningful way.

But, today, I'm starting with this blog.  I figure, we are where we are; where we've bought ourselves to.  The beauty is that as long as we're alive, there is always the ability, the choice, to move forward as desired.  I love to write.  I love to paint and in general create beautiful, functional things from seemingly nothing.  As a part of service, I love to encourage and support productive, inspired actions in others.  These things are fulfilling for me.   So, while I am a Writer at Heart, I consider myself a Creative Artist.

Although generally an outspoken person,  I've always been a bit shy about putting myself out there when it comes to my writings.  A year or so ago, I mustered up the courage to share some poetry.  It's been a while since I've added a new one, but, feel free to browse what's there at simplyfabpoetry.blogspot.com.
Over the years, Writing has been one of my best friends; an outlet for self awareness and expression.  It feels awesome to now Consciously and openly embrace my Creative Writing journey as a Career.
Just Do It!  :)
Time to wrap this first post up.  Just know that this Blog is about having fun sharing my life's journey with others of like mind and spirit.  My intent is to encourage and support those who choose to live their Simply Fab Lifestyle.
Remember, you deserve the best of your desires!   See you next time, as inspired!

Wishing you Peace & Alignment,
Fabraye
